Can I buy and sell bitcoin on Circle Pay?

Note: We no longer offer the ability to buy and sell Bitcoin on Circle Pay. Customers who hold Bitcoin on Circle Pay can continue to receive and send Bitcoin, but once they convert their balance to another currency, they will not be able to convert it back to Bitcoin. What happened to circle bitcoin exchange?

In 2016, Circle discontinued its bitcoin exchange and announced that it would focus on its own blockchain protocol, Spark, a smart contract platform which utilizes a combination of technologies, including bitcoin and other blockchains in addition to traditional settlement systems, to carry out payments.

Can I send money to a BTC address on Circle Pay?

As the message above mentions, only customers holding Bitcoin on Circle Pay will be able to send money to a BTC address. All transactions are free, secure, and fast no matter where you are sending the funds. Sign in to your Circle Pay account and navigate to the Send tab. There, you can enter in the amount you’d like to send.

What is circle and how does it work?

Circle debuted its first consumer products, a bitcoin exchange and wallet, in 2014, but emphasized that the products were intended to facilitate the exchange of fiat money into cryptocurrency and were not geared toward trading and speculation. It introduced a mobile app, which was eventually rebranded as Circle Pay, later that year.
